Alcohol and Drug Counseling

Take back your power.

What started as a drink to unwind after a hard day, a little pick-me-up to power through long hours, or way to celebrate reaching a major milestone has turned into...something else.

The cracks are starting to show. You’re starting to worry about your relationship with alcohol or drugs.

You’ve started drinking or using more, thinking about it (maybe even craving it) during your hectic day, and it’s starting to interfere with the life you’ve worked hard to build. The quality of your work is slipping. You’re not as on top of things as you’d like. You’re irritable and maybe a little indifferent. Things just aren’t as enjoyable sober anymore. Maybe others around you have noticed too, or you’re scared they will.

It's not too late. You don’t have to be pushed around by alcohol or drugs. You’re here because you want to make a change. Or at least start taking a serious look at the role substances play in your life.

Imagine what it would be like to take back your power from alcohol or drugs. To have just one, or completely decline that drink because you know it’s not good for you anymore. Delete that tempting phone number. Reconnect with people and things you used to enjoy without drinking or using. Get back to the version of yourself that you respect. Stop throwing away your hard-earned money to alcohol or drugs.

Feel free again.

Whether your goal is to cut down or get (and stay!) completely sober, I can help. I want to be in your corner for this fight. I have years of experience and specialty training in treating alcohol and drug use disorders. You won’t hear me use the words “alcoholic” or “addict” because 1) there are no true definitions for those words, and 2) they pile on shame that is not helpful to anyone.

I will treat you like a person, because that’s what you are.

I cultivate a judgement-free zone and will never wag my finger at you if you have a slip. Recovery is rarely a straight line.

We will work together to identify your triggers- what leads you to drink or use AND ways to manage those triggers. Often people start to lean too heavily on substances when they aren’t utilizing other healthier coping skills, so a foundation of our work will be to rebuild your healthy coping skills toolkit in a way that makes sense for you. I will support you every step of the way.

I'm not against drugs or alcohol, but I am against them screwing up the life you've worked hard to build.

Let’s put you—not alcohol or drugs—in the driver’s seat.
